Songs and dresses

On wednesday I'm gonna take a part in a small Eurovision karaoke show of OGAE Israel. It's gonna be a contest, and the whole thing is gonna be held in a club, with a real stage and stuff. Exciting! Especially because that means...that I have an opportunity to create a new outfit.

Well, as a self-diagnosed shopaholic, I constantly look for opportunities to buy new clothes. Usually it sounds like "I had a really bad day and need to feel better by buying a new mini skirt" or "I need a vacation and can't afford it, so maybe I'll buy a nice dress and plan to wear it while I'll walk in the streets of the country where my future vacation is gonna take part" and so on. As I said, my shopping is characterised by pure rationality and actual needs. Or not.

So...buying a dress. Since I'm gonna sing 'Det gör ont", I was looking for something which is in the Lena Philipsson's year 2004 style, and by this I mean - very feminine and bright-coloured. I was looking all around the mall and couldn't find something like that. All I found was colourful-but-too-casual dresses, or elegant-and-sexy-but-dull-coloured dresses, mostly in black or gray.

But at the end I found the perfect dress - in my own closet! I almost forgot that a month ago, I went to see the first-ever Forerver 21 store in TLV and saw there a marvelous fancy dress, which I fell in love with, and bought it even though I didn't have any special occasion (I usualy don't have special occasions) in which I would be able to wear it. And now...the perfect occasion! 

The dress is royal blue, which is a more Invincible-Carola colour than Lena Ph, but who cares. It's a pleated dress made of chiffon and its skirt moves when one turns around...perfect! In addition, my friend lended me a pair of extremely high black heels which I'm gonna wear with it. All is left to do is...buy some accessorize tommorow. And that's gonna be the real fun!
